Cable vs Satellite

Saturday, February 21, 2009

Cable companies often ask you to rent a digital box to receive the digital picture, but with satellite TV you just need the updated television to transmit the digital image on the screen. Cable companies are increasingly gouging prices while simultaneously offering less channels than satellite companies. Also, there are very few cable companies to choose from, which makes some customers feel they have to settle for whatever their local provider is. Cable installation occurred two weeks after it was promised, with claims from FCSI that the company's truck had been on the premises "for hours" but no one was home. The price for the lowest, most basic service has risen to more than $55 a month.

Cable television’s subscription rates have been taking a nose dive over the past few years. Most of these customers aren’t going out and purchasing a pair of rabbit ears to provide their television service: They’re going to satellite. Cable TV has become expensive over the years but satellite TV is far more economical. If you were to put together all the subscr i ption charges, you would find the satellite TV bill is much lesser than the monthly cable bill in most cases.
